Larry Itliong’s involvement with the United Farmworkers and the Delano Grape Strike in 1965 wasn’t really discussed in my high school and university U.S. History classes. It wasn’t until I began my internship at a design studio that my boss, a fellow Filipino American, mentioned Itliong in passing. Working on this piece, and the research that went into it was a way for me to connect to my historical heritage, as a child to Filipino immigrants.
